By the Numbers
"Yeah!!!" is the seventh studio album by Aretha Franklin, released on May 17, 1965, on Columbia Records, with the alternate title "Aretha Franklin in Person With Her Quartet." Produced by Clyde Otis, the album leans into vocal jazz and R&B and was presented as a live set, though it was recorded at New York's Columbia Studios with overdubbed audience murmurs added afterward. Its twelve tracks include "Misty," "There Is No Greater Love," "Love for Sale," and a reading of "Trouble in Mind." The album stood as Franklin's final jazz-oriented collection until "Soul '69" in 1969. It marked one of the last entries in her Columbia era before her move to Atlantic Records.
