Almighty Fire is a 1978 soul and R&B album by Aretha Franklin, released on Atlantic Records on April 13 of that year. Curtis Mayfield produced the album and contributed guitar and original compositions, reuniting with Franklin after their work on the Sparkle soundtrack. The title single "Almighty Fire (Woman of the Future)" reached number 12 on the Billboard R&B chart, while "I'm Your Speed," co-written with Glynn Turman, and "More Than Just a Joy" were also included. The album earned Franklin a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female at the 1979 ceremony. It came during a period of declining commercial fortunes near the end of her tenure with Atlantic Records.
