"Aretha Now" by Aretha Franklin, her thirteenth studio album, was released June 14, 1968, on Atlantic Records as a focused soul collection. Jerry Wexler produced the record, with arrangements by Tom Dowd and Arif Mardin, recorded between December 1967 and April 1968 at Atlantic Studios in New York City. The album peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the R&B Albums chart, and it reached number 6 in the UK, her highest chart success there. Singles from the album included "Think," "I Say a Little Prayer," and "I Can't See Myself Leaving You." The album was quickly certified Gold and reached one million copies in United States sales, with Pitchfork later rating it the 133rd best album of the 1960s.
