Money and Cigarettes is Eric Clapton's 1983 studio album and his debut on Duck Records, distributed by Warner Bros. The album arrived during a creative transition (Clapton had parted ways with RSO and was reshaping his band) and features a crisper, more direct sound than his late-1970s work. 'I've Got a Rock 'n' Roll Heart' became the album's best-known song, a radio-friendly rock track that reached the top forty in the US, while 'Pretty Girl' and 'Man in Love' are among the album's originals. The album's blues content includes covers of Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson. Money and Cigarettes is a workmanlike but solid record that established Clapton on his new label while signaling the pop-oriented direction his 1980s output would take.
