August is Eric Clapton's 1986 studio album, produced in its entirety by Phil Collins, who also plays drums on the record. The album continued the polished, commercially oriented approach of Behind the Sun and yielded 'It's in the Way That You Use It,' a co-write between Clapton and Robbie Robertson written for the film The Color of Money that received significant exposure. 'Tearing Us Apart,' a charged duet with Tina Turner, became a highlight of the album and demonstrated both artists at full intensity. 'Run,' 'Miss You,' and 'Holy Mother,' a tribute to the deceased Richard Manuel of The Band co-written with Stephen Bishop, are among the album's more emotionally resonant moments.
