Data Insight

Steve Winwood wrote most of the album's original material, including Had to Cry Today, Can't Find My Way Home and Sea of Joy. Eric Clapton contributed Presence of the Lord, his sole writing credit on the record, while Ginger Baker wrote the extended instrumental Do What You Like. The only cover is Well All Right, originally by Buddy Holly and his bandmates. The record reached number 1 in both the US and UK.

Blind Faith is the sole studio album by the short-lived supergroup of the same name, released in August 1969 on Polydor Records and featuring Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker, and bassist Rick Grech. The album was recorded under intense media scrutiny (the group was one of the first to be marketed as a supergroup) and the material reflects a deliberate move away from the heavy blues-rock of Cream toward something more spacious and soulful. Steve Winwood wrote the majority of the album's material, including 'Can't Find My Way Home' and 'Had to Cry Today,' while 'Presence of the Lord' was Eric Clapton's first major original composition, a devotional rock ballad that remains one of his most personal songs. 'Well All Right' is a cover of the Buddy Holly song, and Ginger Baker's extended drum improvisation 'Do What You Like' closes the album in a nod to the Cream era. Though Blind Faith dissolved within months, the album's influence on late-1960s rock was significant, and 'Can't Find My Way Home' remains a staple of Winwood's and Clapton's live sets.
