By the Numbers
Chaos in Bloom is notable for John Rzeznik producing most of the album himself for the first time, a hands-on shift after years of outside producers. He still co-writes with Gregg Wattenberg and others, and Robby Takac contributes his usual songs, but Rzeznik's expanded role shapes the record. The singles "Yeah, I Like You" and "You Are the Answer" lead a back-to-basics rock set.
Chaos in Bloom came out on Warner Records on August 12, 2022, and John Rzeznik produced most of it himself for the first time, after telling interviewers he wanted the band to write and record in a rawer way. Sessions ran through Dreamland in Hurley, EastWest in Hollywood, Arcade in New York, GCR Audio in Buffalo and Palomino in Los Angeles, with Brad Fernquist and Gregg Wattenberg also producing. 'Yeah, I Like You' and 'You Are the Answer' were the singles, released in July 2022.
