Lotusflow3r Songwriting Credits by Prince

Released March 24, 2009, through NPG Records as part of a triple-album box set sold exclusively at Target stores in the United States, Lotusflow3r was paired with the funk and R&B companion disc MPLSound and Bria Valente's debut album Elixer, all three produced by Prince. Richard Furch handled recording and mixing duties across sessions spanning from November 2004 through early 2009, with Prince writing all tracks on his two discs. The Lotusflow3r disc itself draws from psychedelic rock, funk rock, and acid rock, showcasing Prince's guitar virtuosity in extended improvisational passages across its nine tracks. The package debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 168,000 copies in its first week, and had sold a cumulative 543,700 units by February 2012. Lotusflow3r received a Metacritic score of 68/100, with reviewers praising Prince's guitar playing while noting uneven pacing across the album's eclectic material.
