Data Insight

Red Velvet Car is a fully self-authored Heart album. Every track carries an Ann and Nancy Wilson writing credit, with the sisters partnering across the record with guitarist Craig Bartock, producer Ben Mink, and their longtime writing collaborator Sue Ennis. The composer column shows the Wilsons' legal names, Ann Dustin Wilson and Nancy Lamoureux Wilson, while their co-writers appear under their own names. The closer 'Sand' is a Lovemongers song revisited here, written by the Wilsons with Sue Ennis and Frank Cox, the only track reaching outside the album's core writing team.

Red Velvet Car is the fourteenth studio album by American rock band Heart, released on August 31, 2010, by Legacy Recordings. Produced by Ben Mink, it pairs the Wilson sisters' hard rock roots with an acoustic, folk-leaning sound built on mandolin, Dobro, autoharp, and gypsy fiddle. The record debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200, becoming Heart's first top-10 album since Brigade in 1990 and their highest-charting release in two decades. Ann and Nancy Wilson wrote every song, working with guitarist Craig Bartock, producer Ben Mink, and longtime collaborator Sue Ennis, and the album reached number 3 on the Top Rock Albums chart. It marked the studio debut of the band's touring lineup of Bartock, bassist Ric Markmann, drummer Ben Smith, and keyboardist Debbie Shair, with a guest whistle from Geddy Lee of Rush on 'Death Valley.'
