Songs of Experience Songwriting Credits by U2

U2 brought in the widest outside cast of their career for this record and barely moved the songwriting. Nine producers are credited, Ryan Tedder and Brent Kutzle play on more than half the album, and Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Haim and Julian Lennon all turn up as voices on it. Yet the published credits still read "lyrics by Bono, music by U2" on twelve of the thirteen standard tracks. The one exception is "Lights of Home", where Alana, Danielle and Este Haim share the music credit with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, and Wikipedia's liner-notes listing and the Discogs release credits agree on that being the only shared copyright. The deluxe edition adds a second: "Ordinary Love", first written for the 2013 film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, carries Brian Burton as a co-writer. So the split here is clean. Outside collaborators shaped how the record sounds, not who owns the songs.
