Paul McCartney wrote or co-wrote every song on Flaming Pie, mostly on his own. He shared writing credit with Jeff Lynne on several tracks including The World Tonight and Flaming Pie, with George Martin on Calico Skies and Beautiful Night, with Steve Miller on Used to Be Bad, and with Ringo Starr (credited as Richard Starkey) on Really Love You. The album marked a return to a looser, more personal style after his Beatles Anthology work.
