By the Numbers
Paul McCartney wrote all of the songs on Driving Rain, with two co-written alongside his son James McCartney: Spinning on an Axis and Back in the Sunshine Again. David Kahne produced the album, recorded quickly in early 2001. Freedom was added after the September 11 attacks and released as a single later that year.
Driving Rain is the eighteenth studio album by Paul McCartney, released in November 2001 and produced by David Kahne. It was McCartney's first album since meeting Heather Mills, and he dedicated it to her. The album was recorded quickly and informally, resulting in a more spontaneous feel than his 1990s work.
