Paul McCartney wrote almost all of Back to the Egg and co-produced it with Chris Thomas. Denny Laine contributed the song Again and Again and Again, the main non-McCartney composition on the record. The instrumental Rockestra Theme, a McCartney piece performed by a large assembled rock ensemble, won the Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. This was the seventh and final Wings studio album.
Back to the Egg is the sixth and final studio album by Wings, released in June 1979. It was produced by Chris Thomas and features a harder rock sound than Wings' previous work. The album was McCartney's first for Columbia Records in the US.
