King's Disease II deepens the Hit-Boy partnership into Nas's best-reviewed album in years, with the producer again handling the whole record and Nas writing every verse. It is remembered for rare guest turns, Ms. Lauryn Hill on "Nobody" and Eminem on "EPMD 2," and for Nas sounding sharper and more comfortable than he had in a decade. The writing and the perspective are entirely his, framed by a single producer's vision.
"King's Disease II" is the 2021 thirteenth studio album by Nas, a hip-hop record and the second in his King's Disease series produced primarily by Hit-Boy. Additional production came from Eminem, Corbett, and Jansport J. Singles included "Rare" and "Brunch on Sundays," while featured guests included Eminem, EPMD, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, YG, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with 56,000 album-equivalent units, his highest-charting album in nine years, and topped the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It earned strong reviews with a Metacritic score of 86 and a Best Rap Album nomination at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
