Magic is a lean, nine-track surprise that Nas and Hit-Boy dropped on Christmas Eve 2021 to keep their hot streak going while finishing King's Disease III. "Magic" is the 2021 fourteenth studio album by Nas, a concise hip-hop and hardcore hip-hop record released on Christmas Eve through Mass Appeal Records. It was produced entirely by Hit-Boy and Dustin Corbett, marking the third consecutive Nas album produced by Hit-Boy. The nine-track project ran under 30 minutes and included "Speechless," "Meet Joe Black," "Ugly," and "Wave Gods" featuring A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier. The album debuted at number 27 on the Billboard 200 with 22,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It earned a Metacritic score of 78 and served as an appetizer for "King's Disease III," extending Nas's late-career resurgence.
