King's Disease begins Nas's late-career renaissance with producer Hit-Boy, who handles the entire album while Nas writes every measured, reflective verse. It won the Grammy for Best Rap Album, the first Grammy of Nas's long career, and even reunited the supergroup The Firm. The single-producer focus gives it a cohesion his star-studded 2000s albums often lacked, and the writing is unmistakably his.
"King's Disease" is the 2020 twelfth studio album by Nas, an East Coast hip-hop record that paired him with producer Hit-Boy for the first time and signaled a return to form after the muted reception of "Nasir." Hit-Boy handled the bulk of production, with contributions from Rogét Chahayed and others. The lead single "Ultra Black" featured Hit-Boy, while "Replace Me" featured Big Sean and Don Toliver and "Spicy" featured Fivio Foreign and A$AP Ferg, alongside guests Charlie Wilson, Anderson .Paak, and a reunited Firm. The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 with 47,000 album-equivalent units. It won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, Nas's first Grammy win in his career.
