The Story
Bring Me the Horizon are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. Across their career they have transformed more dramatically than almost any of their peers, beginning as a brutal deathcore act and evolving through metalcore into arena-filling alternative and electronic rock. Frontman Oli Sykes is the constant creative force, writing the lyrics throughout the band's history, while the music has been written by the wider band and, from 2013 onward, increasingly by a core partnership of Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, and keyboardist Jordan Fish. Their 2013 breakthrough Sempiternal and the mainstream successes That's the Spirit and Amo turned them into one of British rock's biggest acts, before the ambitious Post Human series carried them into a restless, genre-blurring late era. The band writes its own material throughout, placing it high on the songwriting authorship scale.
