By the Numbers
On this album the band's writing stays in-house: Oli Sykes wrote every lyric and the five members, now with Jona Weinhofen on guitar, wrote all the music together as Bring Me the Horizon. The guest singers Lights, Josh Franceschi, and Josh Scogin appear as performers on individual tracks, but the songwriting credits belong entirely to the band, with no outside writers on the record.
There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret. is the third studio album by Bring Me the Horizon, released in 2010 with new guitarist Jona Weinhofen in place of Curtis Ward. Again produced by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd, it is the band's most ambitious record to that point, weaving choirs, electronics, and guest vocalists into their metalcore. Oli Sykes wrote all the lyrics while the band wrote the music, with features from Lights, You Me at Six's Josh Franceschi, and Josh Scogin. The album cracked the UK top 20 and 'Blessed with a Curse' reached the top 10 of the UK Rock chart. A bold, layered step forward, it set up the cleaner, hook-driven direction the band would take next.
