The Story

Tariq Trotter and Ahmir Thompson started busking in Philadelphia in 1987 and built the first hip hop group that was actually a band. Eleven studio albums followed, from a self-released debut in 1993 to a concept record in 2014, and since 2009 they have been the house band on Jimmy Fallon's late night show.
