The writing here is genuinely shared, which matters for a band whose later records are one man's work. Brandon Smith takes a lyric credit on all fifteen songs and Chris Yarber the music on all fifteen, a year after Yarber joined. Drummer Oscar Gutierrez picks up lyric credits on It's Not the Same and If Humans Had No Voice, and Bryan Lareau on Held Apart, so three members other than the frontman have their names on the words. Logan Smith, who would hold the drum stool for the next thirteen years, plays on Dangerous and nothing else.
The Anix reached a label with their second album on 15 April 2005, credited on the disc to One Iron Records and Universal. Seven of its fifteen songs are re-recordings from the self-released debut of the year before, rebuilt around Chris Yarber's keyboards and a wider guitar line-up. Oscar Gutierrez and Bryan Lareau both take lyric credits alongside Brandon Smith, and Logan Smith turns up on drums for one song before taking the seat full time.
