Data Insight

Pa'llá Voy is a classic interpreter's album: Marc Anthony sings every track but wrote none of them alone. The credits belong to a bench of songwriters, many from his Magnus Music company, with Lenier Mesa the most frequent partner (co-writing 'Pa'llá Voy,' 'Amor No Tiene Sexo,' 'Mala,' and 'Gimme Some More'), alongside Édgar Barrera and Elena Rose ('Yo Le Mentí'), the Castillo brothers ('Nada de Nada'), and the Ángel Arce team ('No Se Quita,' 'Si Fuera Fácil'). Anthony himself, credited under his legal name Marco Antonio Muñiz, takes a co-writing share on six of the nine songs, but two tracks carry no Anthony credit at all. Production is the constant: Marc Anthony and Sergio George produced throughout, the same George who launched Anthony's salsa career on 1993's Otra Nota, with Motiff attached as associated producer.

Pa'llá Voy is the fourteenth studio album by Marc Anthony, released on March 4, 2022, by Sony Music Latin, and his first full salsa record since 2013's 3.0. It reunited him with producer Sergio George, who had shaped his 1993 debut Otra Nota, with associated producer Motiff rounding out the production team. As with most of his catalog, Anthony is the interpreter here rather than the sole author: the nine tracks were written by a rotating cast of songwriters drawn largely from his Magnus Music camp, including Lenier Mesa, Édgar Barrera, Elena Rose, and the Venezuelan Castillo brothers, with Anthony taking a co-writing credit on the majority of them. The album produced the No. 1 Tropical Airplay singles 'Pa'llá Voy' and 'Mala,' plus the single 'Nada de Nada.' It won Best Salsa Album at the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards and Best Tropical Latin Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, and was certified Gold (Latin) by the RIAA.
