The album was produced by Marc Anthony together with Julio Reyes Copello, and its lead single 'Y Como Es El,' a cover of the Jose Luis Perales standard, reached the top of the Latin album charts. Iconos topped the US Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts and was certified multi-platinum in the Latin field, standing as Anthony's homage to the songwriters who shaped the Spanish-language ballad.
