By the Numbers
Rebirth pairs Jennifer Lopez with a deep bench of producers, leaning on longtime collaborator Cory Rooney across much of the record alongside Timbaland and his protege Danja, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, and Rich Harrison. The lead single "Get Right" was written by Harrison and built on a sample of "Soul Power '74" by Maceo and the Macks, with its looping saxophone hook driving the track. Lopez co-wrote several songs and took an executive role shaping the project, while her then husband Marc Anthony contributed production. "Hold You Down" brought in Fat Joe and interpolated Shirley Murdock's "As We Lay," extending the album's mix of dance-pop and R&B.
Rebirth is Jennifer Lopez's fourth studio album, released February 1, 2005 on Epic Records. The album took a more aggressive R&B and hip-hop direction, featuring production from Rich Harrison, Timbaland, and Rodney Jerkins. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Marc Anthony, who Lopez married in 2004, appears as a duet partner on '(Can't Believe) This Is Me.' Big Boi of OutKast produced 'Still Around,' one of the album's more eclectic tracks.
