Data Insight

As with the group's earlier Motown releases, the Jackson 5 wrote nothing on Third Album. The signature ballad 'I'll Be There' was written by Berry Gordy, Bob West, Willie Hutch, and Hal Davis and produced by Hal Davis, while 'Mama's Pearl' was written and produced by The Corporation. The album leans heavily on covers, including 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' (Simon and Garfunkel) and 'Ready or Not Here I Come' (The Delfonics).

Third Album is the third studio album by the Jackson 5, released in September 1970 on Motown Records. Like the group's first two albums, it was recorded under the Motown house system with material provided by the Corporation songwriting team. It includes the hit 'I'll Be There,' one of the group's signature songs.
