Data Insight

Goin' Places was still very much a Gamble and Huff production, made at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia with Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff as executive producers and chief songwriters, alongside Philadelphia International staff. The Jacksons themselves wrote and produced only two tracks, 'Different Kind of Lady' and 'Do What You Wanna,' their first self-authored efforts at Epic. Those two songs reportedly gave the brothers the confidence to seek full creative control, which they took on the following album, Destiny.

Goin' Places is the second studio album by The Jacksons, released in October 1977 on Epic Records. Again produced by Gamble and Huff, it continued the Philadelphia soul direction of their debut but was less commercially successful. The group would take over their own production for the following album Destiny.
