By the Numbers
Whibley writes twelve of the fourteen tracks alone, the sharpest shift in the catalogue: after Chuck's collective credit and the shared writing of the first two albums, he is suddenly doing it by himself. Baksh's departure is the obvious cause, and Whibley also takes over production for the first time.
Underclass Hero is Sum 41's fourth album, released in July 2007, their first without Dave Baksh, who left in 2006. Deryck Whibley produced it. It became the band's highest-charting album, reaching number seven on the Billboard 200, and drew mixed reviews.
