Anyone for Doomsday? follows the same writing template as Tonight the Stars Revolt!, Spider One wrote all lyrics while all music is credited collectively to Powerman 5000 as a five-piece. Producers Terry Date (Soundgarden, Deftones) and Ulrich Wild carried over from the previous album's team. The album's release history is complicated: initially reported as cancelled by DreamWorks, it was released in 2001 and includes multiple short interludes alongside its full tracks.
DreamWorks had this set for August 28, 2001 and pulled it weeks out, with Spider One saying it sounded too much like Tonight the Stars Revolt! Copies circulated anyway, and Discogs and MusicBrainz both list a 2001 DreamWorks CD. The writing follows the band's usual split, Spider One on every lyric and the five-piece credited with all the music, and Terry Date produced alongside Ulrich Wild.
