By the Numbers
Abandon Ship is the first Powerman 5000 album with Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle, The Beta Machine) as co-writer, producing all original tracks alongside Spider One. Spider One wrote all lyrics. Track 11 'Bombshell' is a re-recording of the original track from Anyone for Doomsday? (2001), with songwriting credits returning to the original five-piece lineup of that era.
Cleopatra released Abandon Ship in May 2024, the band's eleventh studio album and first in four years. Spider One wrote every lyric and shares the music with producer Matt McJunkins on ten of the eleven tracks; the closer is a new version of "Bombshell" that keeps the 2001 writing credits of the Anyone for Doomsday? lineup.
