Does Feid write his own songs?

Yes, and he was writing hits for other people years before he was singing them. He co-wrote J Balvin's "Ginza" in 2015 alongside Balvin, Sky Rompiendo, Bull Nene and Mosty, and the song that became Reykon's "Secretos" started life as his own single "Puedo Ser" before he handed it over. "Mamita" for CNCO, "Sigo Extrañándote" for J Balvin and "Besándote" for Piso 21 all carry his name too, and Universal Music Publishing Group signed him as a songwriter and producer in December 2016 on the strength of that run.
