Cyndi Lauper's ninth studio album, released October 11, 2005, through Epic Records' Daylight imprint, consisting primarily of acoustic and reimagined re-recordings of songs from her back catalog alongside two new original tracks. Co-produced by Lauper with William Wittman and original debut producer Rick Chertoff, the album revisits material from She's So Unusual through Sisters of Avalon. "Above the Clouds," a new co-write with Jeff Beck and Jed Leiber featuring Beck on guitar, and "I'll Be Your River," co-written with Tom Hammer, are the only new original compositions. Because the majority of tracks are re-recordings, songwriter credits mirror those of the original releases; the version of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" here carries a co-credit for Lauper in addition to Robert Hazard, reflecting the lyrical changes she made to the song. Guest performers include Jeff Beck, Shaggy, and Sarah McLachlan.
