The Bridge was released on 19 November 2021 through A&M, Cherrytree and Interscope, recorded across 2020 in studios in Wiltshire, Italy, France, New York and the Bahamas. Sting wrote it through a year he described as one of pandemic, personal loss, separation and lockdown. Branford Marsalis returns on saxophone and clarinet and Manu Katché on drums. Martin Kierszenbaum and Maya Jane Coles produced with him and both take writing credits. It reached number 101 on the Billboard 200.
