Sanctuary is the band's sixth studio album and the first to feature bassist Emma Anzai. Amy Lee co-wrote the material with bandmates including Tim McCord, Troy McLawhorn, Will Hunt and Anzai, alongside producers Jordan Fish, Zakk Cervini and Alex Seaver. Production was shared between Jordan Fish, Nick Raskulinecz and Zakk Cervini, with additional work by Seaver and Tyler Demorest across studios in Los Angeles and Nashville. Live sources describe a gothic hard rock sound carrying electronic textures, with lead single 'Afterlife' first surfacing in 2025 as part of the Devil May Cry soundtrack.
Sanctuary is Evanescence's sixth studio album, released June 5, 2026 on BMG. Production is split between Nick Raskulinecz (five tracks) and the duo Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini (seven tracks). The album is the first to feature writing contributions from bassist Emma Anzai, who joined in 2022. "Forever Without You" was co-written with Skylar Grey. The album's title track is co-written by Lee, Anzai, Fish, McLawhorn, and Cervini. A Japanese-exclusive bonus track, "Fight Like a Girl," features K. Flay as a co-writer and performer.
