With Ben Moody gone, Amy Lee built The Open Door around a new primary co-writer, guitarist Terry Balsamo, who shares writing credit on most of the album. The Open Door is Evanescence's second studio album, released October 3, 2006. Produced entirely by Dave Fortman, it was the first album written without Ben Moody, establishing a primary creative partnership between Amy Lee and new guitarist Terry Balsamo. Lee wrote four tracks entirely alone ("Lithium," "Like You," "Good Enough," and portions of the closer), signaling her full emergence as Evanescence's primary creative force. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. "Call Me When You're Sober" and "Lithium" were the lead singles.
