Adam Duritz wrote all nine tracks with no co-writer, which is how nearly every Counting Crows record has worked since August and Everything After in 1993: the band arranges and plays, he writes. The line-up backing him here has been stable for two decades, with Bryson, Gillingham, Vickrey, Immerglück, Powers and Bogios all present. Four of the nine songs first appeared on the 2021 EP Butter Miracle, Suite One, so this album completes a project he began eleven years after the previous full-length.
Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets! is the eighth Counting Crows studio album, released on May 9, 2025 through BMG. It is their first full-length since Somewhere Under Wonderland in 2014 and folds in the four songs from the 2021 EP Butter Miracle, Suite One, adding five new ones. Adam Duritz wrote all nine tracks alone, Brian Deck produced and Tchad Blake mixed.
