Data Insight

Authorship stays consistent: every lyric is Alex Turner's and the music is the band's collective credit, so the four members appear by legal name across all twelve tracks. The one performance break from the pattern is Matt Helders taking lead vocals on "Brick by Brick," the rare Arctic Monkeys track not fronted by Turner.

Suck It and See is the fourth studio album by Arctic Monkeys, released in June 2011 on Domino. Recorded in Los Angeles with James Ford producing, it softened the heaviness of Humbug into brighter melodies and clearer pop songwriting while keeping the band's rock backbone. Alex Turner wrote all the lyrics and the band shared the music credit. Matt Helders sang lead on "Brick by Brick." The album reached number one in the UK and bridged the desert-rock detour of Humbug toward the sleeker sound the band would perfect on AM.
