The album keeps Alex Turner as sole lyrical voice, with only two co-writes: Johanna Bennett on "Fluorescent Adolescent" and Jon McClure on "Old Yellow Bricks." Music is again credited to the band as a whole, so the composer column lists the four members by legal name on every track. It is the first album with Nick O'Malley on bass after Andy Nicholson's departure.
Favourite Worst Nightmare is the second studio album by Arctic Monkeys, released in April 2007 on Domino. Recorded quickly after their debut, it is faster and harder, with Matt Helders' drumming pushed to the front and the band tightening into a more muscular unit. Alex Turner wrote the lyrics, sharing two credits with outside writers, while the band took the collective music credit. James Ford and Mike Crossey produced. Like its predecessor the album entered the UK chart at number one, and the lead single "Brianstorm" set its aggressive tone before "Fluorescent Adolescent" became one of the band's best-loved songs.
