The writing arrangement that carries the next fifty years is in place on the first record: Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott share the credit on everything they wrote here, and the only track outside that is a blues cover. George Young, the brothers' older sibling and a member of the Easybeats, produces with Harry Vanda, which keeps the band's early sound inside the family.

High Voltage is AC/DC's debut studio album, released on 17 February 1975 through Albert Productions and issued only in Australia and New Zealand. Eight tracks recorded in Sydney with Harry Vanda and George Young producing. It reached number 14 at home. The 1976 international album of the same name is a different record, drawn from this album and its follow-up.
