Data Insight

Three writers on every original, and Vanda and Young producing for the third album running. The interesting thing here is commercial rather than creative: Atlantic declined to release it in America at the time, and when it finally appeared in 1981 on the back of Back in Black it outcharted almost everything the band had done in the seventies.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is AC/DC's third studio album, released on 20 September 1976. Nine tracks produced by Harry Vanda and George Young. The Australian and international pressings carry different track listings; the listing used here follows the Australian release. It reached number 5 in Australia, and the delayed 1981 American release went to number 3.
