Data Insight

The only White Stripes album with no covers on it: all sixteen tracks are Jack White's, the first time that is true. It is also the album where the band stopped sounding like a blues project and started sounding like themselves. Stewart Sikes engineered it in Memphis in a few days.

White Blood Cells is the White Stripes' third album, released in July 2001 on Sympathy for the Record Industry. It made them: "Fell in Love with a Girl" and its Lego video put the band on MTV, and the album has sold over a million copies in the United States. It appears on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 200 Definitive Albums.
