By the Numbers
All thirteen tracks are Jack White's, with no covers, the second album where that is true. The experiment here is instrumental rather than authorial: "My Doorbell" is built on piano and "The Nurse" on marimba, and Jack plays almost all of it. The writing arrangement is unchanged from every other record.
Get Behind Me Satan is the White Stripes' fifth album, released in June 2005 on V2 and recorded at Jack White's Detroit house. It moves the band off the guitar, with piano and marimba carrying much of it, and reached number three on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart.
