Shakira co-wrote and co-produced most of Sale el Sol, returning to writing in Spanish after the English-leaning She Wolf era. She built the merengue-driven singles 'Loca' and 'Rabiosa' with Dominican producer El Cata and Pitbull, who shares writing credit on both, while ballads like 'Antes de las Seis' and 'Sale el Sol' are largely her own work alongside longtime collaborator Luis Fernando Ochoa.
