Data Insight

Santos wrote alone across most of this record, and the co-writes land only where an outside guest does. Promise and All Aboard bring in Rico Love and Pierre Medor, Rival adds Mario Domm, and Magia Negra picks up La Mala Rodríguez along with its producers Nely and Tainy. All Aboard is the strange one, credited to Dwayne Carter, Medor and Love with no Santos writing credit at all, so the Lil Wayne track is the single song here he had no hand in writing. Production splits along the same seam: Santos and Ivan Chevere hold the bachata, and the crossover songs go to Rico Love, Tainy and Nely.

Romeo Santos cut his first solo record after Aventura broke up, and it carried bachata into rooms that had never booked the genre. Most of the fifteen tracks are his own writing, co-produced with Ivan Chevere, with Usher taking the English half of Promise, Lil Wayne rapping through All Aboard and flamenco guitarist Tomatito playing across Mi Santa. It debuted at number one on Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums and reached nine on the Billboard 200. Six singles came off it, and four of those, You, Promise, Mi Santa and La Diabla, reached number one on Billboard Hot Latin Songs.

Usher. Santos sings his part in Spanish and Usher sings his in English, and the song reached number one on Billboard Hot Latin Songs and on Tropical Songs.
How many singles from the album went to number one?
Six singles came off the album and four of them reached number one on Billboard Hot Latin Songs: You, Promise, Mi Santa and La Diabla.
Where was the album recorded?

Data note: Two naming problems sit in this album's credits. Wikipedia and AllMusic name Ivan Chevere as the album's co-producer and one of its mixers, while Genius gives the same roles on the same songs to Mate Traxx; no source opened here states whether these are one person or two, so both names are kept as printed. Genius also lists a producer called Anthony Santos on Skit (La Discusión) and Debate de 4. That name is both Romeo Santos's legal name and the legal name of the guest bachata singer billed on those tracks as Antony Santos, and nothing read here resolves which is meant, so the credit is left out of the producer lists.
