This is a co-written album rather than an interpreter's record. Newton-John has a writing hand in four of the ten songs, partnering with Amy Sky on 'Under the Skin,' with Annie Roboff and Beth Nielsen Chapman on the title track, with Victoria Shaw on 'That's All I Know for Sure,' and with her daughter Chloe Lattanzi on 'Can I Trust Your Arms.' The rest come from outside writers, including a re-recording of her 1976 song 'Don't Stop Believin',' written by longtime collaborator John Farrar, and 'Phenomenal Woman,' set to a Maya Angelou poem by Amy Sky and David Pickell. Production tracks the same split: Chong Lim and Newton-John handle seven songs, Amy Sky the other three, one of them with Kim Bullard.

Stronger Than Before is a studio album by Olivia Newton-John, released on 29 August 2005 as a Hallmark Gold Crown exclusive to mark National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Newton-John, a breast cancer survivor herself, built the record as a message of encouragement to women dealing with the disease. She co-wrote several of the songs, working with collaborators including Amy Sky, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Annie Roboff, and Victoria Shaw, and one track was written for her by her daughter Chloe Lattanzi. Most of the album was produced by Chong Lim with Newton-John, while Amy Sky and Kim Bullard handled the rest. The centerpiece 'Phenomenal Woman,' adapted from the Maya Angelou poem, features guest vocals from Patti LaBelle, Diahann Carroll, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Delta Goodrem, Amy Holland, and Mindy Smith.
