By the Numbers
Chad Kroeger is credited on ten of the eleven tracks and writes five of them alone. Ryan Peake is the other constant, co-writing four songs and writing the instrumental closer 'The Betrayal (Act I)' by himself, the one track across all ten Nickelback albums without a Kroeger credit. Outside writers appear on three songs: Hayley Warner, Steph Jones and Ryan Spraker on 'Song on Fire,' Ali Tamposi on 'After the Rain,' and Joe Nichols on 'Every Time We're Together.' The band produced the record with Chris Baseford.
Feed the Machine was Nickelback's first album for BMG, released on June 16, 2017 and produced by the band with Chris Baseford. It entered the Billboard 200 at number five on 47,000 units and reached number three in the UK, the highest debut of their career there. Four singles came off it, starting with the title track in February. Chad Kroeger writes on ten of the eleven tracks; the exception is the instrumental closer 'The Betrayal (Act I),' which Ryan Peake wrote alone and which is the only song in the band's catalogue with no Kroeger credit. The BPI has certified it silver.
