By the Numbers
Brian Warner wrote the lyrics, and Tim Skold wrote and produced the music alongside him, making this essentially a two-man record. With Twiggy Ramirez gone, Skold played guitars, bass, and keyboards, handled engineering and programming, and shared production and composition credit throughout. The songs draw heavily on Warner's breakup with Dita Von Teese and his relationship with Evan Rachel Wood, who appears in the 'Heart-Shaped Glasses' video. Sean Beavan mixed the album.
Marilyn Manson's sixth album, co-produced by Manson and Tim Skold. A stripped-back, intimate record by Manson's standards, it was largely written and recorded by just the two of them. The album is notably the first without any contribution from longtime member Madonna Wayne Gacy.
