The Story
The Jonas Brothers are an American pop rock band from Wyckoff, New Jersey, consisting of brothers Kevin Jonas (born Paul Kevin Jonas II, November 5, 1987), Joe Jonas (born Joseph Adam Jonas, August 15, 1989), and Nick Jonas (born Nicholas Jerry Jonas, September 16, 1992). The group formed in 2005 and broke through commercially through their association with Disney Channel, becoming teen pop superstars with their 2007 Hollywood Records debut, the 2008 album A Little Bit Longer, and a string of Disney films and their own television series. Their commercial and cultural peak arrived with A Little Bit Longer (2008), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and spawned 'Burnin' Up' and 'Lovebug.' Nick Jonas, diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 13, wrote the title track 'A Little Bit Longer' as a solo reflection on that experience, one of the band's most personal and widely praised songs. The group disbanded in 2013 amid creative and personal tensions, pursued solo careers, and reunited in 2019 with Happiness Begins, their most pop and mature album, and the global hit 'Sucker,' which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making them the first group in history to debut at number one with their first chart entry.
