Honkytonkville is the nineteenth studio album by George Strait, released in 2003 on MCA Nashville and produced with Tony Brown. It topped the country chart and was certified platinum. The album produced the hits 'Tell Me Something Bad About Tulsa' and 'Cowboys Like Us,' and included a version of Bruce Robison's 'Desperately.' Strait wrote none of the twelve songs, leaning on Dean Dillon and Jim Lauderdale among others. The record kept his honky-tonk foundation in place as country radio turned toward a slicker sound.
