Year of the Dog... Again is DMX's first album to miss No. 1, debuting at No. 2 after his move off Def Jam, but he keeps writing all of his own raps. DMX's sixth studio album, released August 1, 2006, through Columbia Records and Ruff Ryders Entertainment, his first album not on Def Jam. The departure from Def Jam followed legal disputes and personal struggles. Swizz Beatz returned to produce five tracks, and Scott Storch contributed two including the closing gospel-influenced "Lord Give Me a Sign," one of DMX's most frequently cited faith-based recordings. Busta Rhymes appears on "Come Thru (Move)" and Jadakiss and Styles P return on "It's Personal." Amerie brings a soul vocal to "Dog Love." The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.
