Asylum

Asylum is the fifth studio album by Disturbed, released in August 2010 on Reprise Records and produced by Johnny K. It was the band's fourth consecutive number-one debut on the Billboard 200 and an album that demonstrated the consistency of their commercial formula across a decade of releasing music in the same stylistic framework. Draiman wrote all lyrics; the album includes 'Another Way to Die,' 'Asylum,' and 'Warrior' among the principal tracks, with the production focusing on the same heavy riff-and-melodic-chorus structure that had sustained the band's radio presence. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 170,000 first-week sales and has been certified gold in the United States; 'Another Way to Die' reached the top five on the Mainstream Rock chart. Asylum was followed by a four-year hiatus during which band members pursued solo and side projects before reconvening for Immortalized in 2015. The album nonetheless represents a commercially secure and professionally executed entry in the Disturbed catalog, demonstrating that even in the absence of a breakout single or creative innovation, the band's consistent songwriting and production formula could reliably generate a platinum-level commercial performance and sustain their arena touring operation.
