By the Numbers
This is the first album with a second writer in it. Eleven tracks are Bellamy's alone; "Save Me" and "Liquid State" are Chris Wolstenholme's, written about his drinking and sung by him, the first Muse songs he had ever fronted. After eighteen years of one writer, the bassist stepping forward is the story of the record.
The 2nd Law is Muse's sixth album, released in September 2012. It brought dubstep and electronic production into the band's sound and included "Survival", the official song of the 2012 London Olympics. Chris Wolstenholme wrote and sang two tracks about his alcoholism.
